Created in 2012 and won several awards, the PMS simplifes and automate hotel operations from front of house to back office.
Their need
We got introduced in 2023. We needed an experienced French linguist to join a 3-member team to translate into French. France is our major market we needed more capacity as our marketing volumes have grown. We needed to update our blog and create more client case and communication copy to inspire trust on the French market. We needed someone experienced in marketing and in the hospitality industry. Elodie had previous experiences with holiday rentals brands, even prop tech brands. We were willing to pay for quality. Elodie sent us examples of her work andpassed a test. We wanted an ongoing basis collaboration with a professionnal and good communicator. And Elodie already knew and was familiar using Crowdin, our localisation tool.
My solution
Reactivity: I answer fast to order emails and let the team know about my availabilities. As it is a direct and regular collaboration, the communication is very smooth and I always keep some time for the client in my schedule. I ask queries in Crowdin, the localisation tool that the company provides for all the languages they manage. I always provide specific references and assumptions. A glossary has been created and is regularly updated. Whenever I notice a typo, a term or sentence that raises a doubt in the source text I indicate it. The fact that I know the industry helps a lot. Respect of terminology: I follow the company glossary I always apply quality assessment process on every project I work on. I generate a bilingual file then a French only file. I use Antidote software to do a grammar, spelling, style and punctuation assessment. Then I read the French only to ensure completeness and fluid text. Then the text is proofread by another French linguist of the team and we discuss translation choices where needed.
The results
Thanks to Elodie, we have also been able to increase our French content online and for our marketing communication to convert more French clients. We needed a third freelancer to get things done and Elodie is helping us. We are very happy of her work. She is thorough and reliable, her knowledge of the industry is helpful as she can spot errors in the source text.
